1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 New OEM Tank
I came across this tank on e-bay and the owner says it is brand new out of the box. I have seen these tanks go for a lot of money. The original paint does not have ultraviolet protection like our modern day paints. It also is not protected from modern day gasohol. The tank pictured below has just that. So the question is: do you buy an expensive oem tank that will need paint in a few years and will rust from the gasohol, or do you restore your original parts? You make the call. Also please make note of the exact color match and scheme.
